Brooke + Cipi | Savannah, GA Elopement
Last Saturday, I received a call from Brooke.
She told me that she and her new husband had gotten married the day before and didn’t have any photos of the wedding and wanted to do some before they left Savannah.
I said, “Let’s do it!” (Of course!)
But, little did I know how great their whole story was.
They wanted to do their photos in front of one of Savannah, Georgia’s many beautiful churches and they decided on the Independent Presbyterian Church just off of Chippewa Square in downtown Savannah.
It was the perfect choice with its stately architecture and its unmistakable steeple which, fun fact, was the steeple featured in the opening scene of the movie Forrest Gump.
When they got there they started to tell me a little bit more about themselves.
They planned to get married in Savannah and planned to do it that same weekend.
Cipi’s mother is an officiant and was going to marry them.
Here’s where it starts to get so good…
While on one of the rooftops downtown, they spontaneously decided to get married right then and there!
Is that not the greatest thing you’ve ever heard?
That is why they had no photos; and why they called me the next day.
I just know they will cherish that story for their whole lives and it will be passed down for generations.
Imagine your grandparents telling you that they were spontaneously married on a rooftop; perfection.
I am so blessed to meet such sweet and spontaneous couples.
And, we can all learn a lesson from this one:
Your wedding is for you and your fiancé(e). It’s yours!
It does not have to look like everyone else’s; it should be exactly what you two want it to be.
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
